Boosting a Subaru BRZ

The Subaru BRZ is a car targeted at young drivers. Simple as that. Its cheap, its manual, its easy to maintain, its looks awesome and oh yea, its cheap. It has just about everything a young driver looks for in a brand new car. Just about, we said. The only thing that seems to be missing from this recipe is the need for more power. Yes, you are gonna go fast in this 2.0L Flat 4 Gas Engine, but what about going fast? Well according the boys down in engine development at Subaru, there was just no room to slap a turbo onto this car and make it go fast. Well if there is a will, there is a way. And the way comes to us from Toledo, OH where Accelerated Performance, a tune shop, has strapped a turbo to the BRZ. Not caring about engine warranties, they have successful added 54.5 HP, bringing the car to 161 whp. Its normally 200 HP to the crank. This is great news for all of you looking to dive into purchasing this car and modding the hell out of it. Check the video below for some BOV goodness.

Never Trust the Valet

I once applied for a job as a valet to a parking garage. You had to speak English and Spanish, know how to drive manual, and be very punctual. I didn’t know how to speak Spanish. But I always wondered if I got that job would I have ever been tempted to take a client’s car for a spin. I am not sure. But I do know that people in Florida actually do take people’s cars for a spin, home, on errands, and of course, take pictures like its theirs. That is according to WFTV News who planned their own sting operation to catch a parking lot owner in the act of driving a customer’s car around. This guy went over the top, but it does make you wonder what really happens when you hand over your keys to the valet service at your local restaurant. Unfortunately I don’t have the time or patience to set up GPS in a car and get a helicopter to try and catch anyone hooning my car but you can still enjoy the video of this news crew and never trust another valet in your life again.

Be the Aggressor: E92 Carbon Fiber M-Style Lip

If you have ever wondered whose white BMW that is in the link to the right, well it belongs to a good friend of mine. Its an E92 BMW 335i that has been heavily modded. The twin-turbo‘d engine, HorsePowerFreak Intercooler, and adaptive tuning all come together in harmony to create a 380 HP/390 TQ beast. It is a car meant to be seen and remembered with its EMT plates, M3 rims, muffler-deleted exhaust and distinguished red interior. This car is sort of a big deal and I was one of the lucky few who got to see it, from beginning to end, become what it is today. But even with the countless hours that was put into this car and the almost countless money that was spent, there are just some mods that brings everything together. And no one likes a plan coming together more than the owner of this car. That’s why when he finally installed ModMy3Series E92 Carbon Fiber M-Style Lip, I was the first person he called. ‘She looks aggressive as hell…’ was all he said. And oh boy did she. Well threaded carbon fiber, with an almost perfect gloss made the front end of this car an instant thing of beauty. What impressed me most was how easy it was to install this lip. 30 minutes and this already distinguished BMW acquired a whole new attitude. ‘Swag’ was my response.

Modding a car is something that takes time, research and dedication because there is just no limit to what you can do. Finding the right mods, putting them all together and making sure they compliment one another is no easy task. One of the most important things is always finding a manufacturer that puts the extra time in on their products and ModM3Series obviously puts too much time into his. Good man.

Be sure to check out the full installation write up for more pictures on E90Post forums.

A Mercedes is Always A Good Thing

Not many people know about this car. Its the Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Black. This thing is beauty meets the beast and he being the animal that he is, plays his aggressive cards and she lets him get some, plus anal. Yup, my analogies are a bit overwhelming so thats why I dug up the video below so you can see exactly where I was going with that.

2013 Shelby GT500 is a Cheap-as-Fuck Hot Wheel

You read that title right, buddy. That is a dirt cheap car. Especially for what you get. And just what is it you are getting exactly? A 650 HP, 600 lbs of torque premium everything for about $63,000. That is a bargain. A 650HP bargain. Try to compare that to any other vehicle with that much power and you will go mad trying to find one. BMW M3 is gonna run you $90K, Nissan GT-R another $90K, Mercedes for get about it. And even if you decide you want to throw out the $90K you still not gonna get that sort of power in any of these cars. The Porsche Turbo puts out 500HP and that costs upwards of $130, 000. Now before you go running out to buy one, let me remind you that you are still getting a bargain. Meaning I would recommend some after-market upgrades such as a roll-cage and crash helmet to make sure you don’t die going to the grocery store. I can’t figure out what Ford’s plan is with this car. Haven’t they realized yet that people want a quality car versus a ridiculous monster with a big engine that knows nothing else but going really fast in a straight line? Guess not. This world is full of turns Ford. It would be nice to take one or two without clamping up with fear because you don’t know if you will make it through or not.
