That is the url to the most influential, distinguishable, and trendy company to date. Please take this time to copy and paste the title of this article into a new tab in your browser and hit enter. I’ll wait.

The iPhone 5, iPad, iPod, and the Mac computers have all been redesigned to standards that are simply amazing. If you want to see how integrated our lives and technology has become, head to your nearest Apple Store, pick up any of the listed devices and I dare you to not be impressed. Even I, a pretty tech savvy guy, wondered what rock I was living under when I walked into the SoHo Apple Store to grab my new Iphone 5. What had Android done to me? Well for starters, it made me forget that technology is still suppose to look and feel…simply amazing. For the last 3 years, I have been knee deep in the Android World. Rooting, customizing, personalizing, all for what? To try and make my phone, a device that says so much about who a person is, seem amazing. I simply powered on my iPhone 5 and immediately lost the need to change or customize a thing. How the hell did they do that? I can’t say for sure, but if you spend just five minutes playing with any of these devices, you will soon stop trying to figure that out.

The Vultures Have Begun Circling RIM HQ

Its hard to see things that you never thought would die, die. RIM, Research in Motion, the company behind the BlackBerry name is now coming up on its last hoorahs. And its coming up fast. Today they reported the Q1 earning for 2013 and the numbers are a disappointment. Company revenue is down to $2.2 Billion from $4.2 Billion, they sold only 7.8 million phones, and plans for the new Blackberry 10 has been pushed back to sometime next year. To add insult to injury, as soon as these numbers were made public, stocks dropped 17%,  hitting lows of $9.17 a share today. To put that in perspective for you, it was trading at $30 a share just a year ago. Damn.

But before you go out and try to buy the latest BlackBerry thinking it may be a relic soon just know that you shouldn’t feel too bad for this company. Its the golden rule of technology today. You have to keep moving forward. RIM was a company set in its ways and refused to adapt. The industry was forever changing with all the iPhones, Androids and even Windows phones constantly implementing new tech. To not change was certain death, and it seems as though the dice was rolled and RIM has come up short. The vultures are definitely circling.

If you have no idea what this is, you must now finally admit that your existence is a joke. Once you have made this distinction you can now redeem yourself by heading on over to Engadget, as they seem to have the most coverage on this keynote event. Some amazing products were revealed today by the Google team that will no doubt drastically shift and form the sensitive tech eco-system. The introduction of Jelly Bean, the new Android OS, the Nexus 7, yet another tablet, the Nexus Q and more in depth info on Project Glass, are just some of the things covered. Basically, its a ton of stuff you are not gonna want to miss.  There should be a video posted soon of the official keynote.

Get High Tech On Saving Energy

Pay an electric bill? Think the air-conditioner was the human race‘s best invention? Like beautifully designed products that make your home look space-aged? Well, you should go and buy a Nest thermostat today from Amazon.

Ex-Apple engineers wanted to revolutionize how the thermostat looked and felt and I think they may have succeeded. Its discreet, it learns and it has a display that will make any nerd break down in tears. If I lived in a place that required a thermostat, mine would be in the mail by now. But since I don’t, I suppose I should just get to the part where you can sign up for a free one of these bad boys.  Thats if you live in the good old state of Texas though. Due to a recent deal between Nest and Reliant, a Texas based electric company, seems like residents of the state of Texas can sign up for a free one as part of a “Learn and Conserve” package. Lucky bastards. But anyway, head on over to Nest website to see how it can be cool to save energy.

Lytro Camera

Its a new way of taking pictures and it may just change how people view and use pictures forever. Normally a picture is taken on a single plane of light. With this camera it captures the entire light field, which is all the light traveling in every direction in every point in space. Now that is cool. Check out the website to see what you can do with a photo once it been taken. Awesome stuff there.
